Résumés for executives and experienced professionals

You already have a successful career. You already have a résumé. But now you're at a crossroads and want to make sure your next step is the best possible. Do you have the time and headspace to figure out how to make that résumé shine? If that is one more thing you don't need on your plate right now, you've come to the right place.

The CareerZeus can take care of this distraction for you. I won't improve your old résumé. I'll create a new, purpose-built one from scratch. To enable me to do this, we will conduct an extensive interview covering your experience and achievements.

How it works, step-by-step:

💲 After you have placed your order and paid the kick-off fee (see here), you will receive an email with a request to send me your existing résumé (if you have one - I will use the data contained therein to save us some time; if you don't have one, you'll need to fill in a worksheet with basic data).

📄 Send me your existing résumé.

📅 Within 24 hours of receiving it, I will send you a link to my bookings page. Make your appointment with me there.

💻 We meet online at the appointed time. I use Microsoft Teams for this. You don't need any special software for this. Works with any web browser, on a PC, a Mac, or a phone (iPhone/Android... doesn't matter).

😮 The conversation will take 90-120 minutes. We can break it into two sessions if you prefer it that way. Through this conversation, I learn about your career, your achievements, and your plans.

📝 Within 48 hours of the end of our meeting, I send you the draft résumé in PDF format, for your review.

✔️ You give me feedback, based on which I revise the draft for final review. You can give your feedback in writing, or we arrange for another call to go over the adjustments that need to be made.

🔁 We will go back and forth until you are satisfied. There is no limit on the time I spend on this or on the number of review calls.

💸 Once you have signed off on the final draft, I will send you an invoice for the final payment. You can pay by Paypal, credit card and other means. Note that up to this point, all drafts I'll be showing you will miss the header with your name and address, and some random words will be blurred out.

💼 Upon receipt of your payment, I will send you the completed résumé in MS Word, OpenOffice, and PDF formats (Apple Pages can read and convert MS Word files). These finalized versions will come with full headers and no blurred words. If you have ordered an online presence review, you will receive it at this time, as well, or latest within 48 hours.

And that's it. Should you want further revisions, I can do those for a small extra charge.

Cover Letters

A conventional, bland cover letter - whether in actual paper form or as an electronic equivalent - is a surefire way to get your application binned. What you need is a text that hooks the hiring manager and makes them want to get to know you. It needs to be unusual, fun to read, and show a high level of awareness of the employing company.

Effort is required with every one of these texts. As part of this service, I will ask you to fill in a worksheet that includes all pertinent information about the employer. I may also give you a quick call to clarify anything that isn't obvious from the worksheet. You'll receive your tailored cover letter within 48 hours of supplying the completed worksheet to me. It'll come in MS Word, OpenOffice and PDF formats.
