Terms of Service

In a nutshell: my services are generally non-refundable. I provide these services with no guarantee for the results of your job search. By engaging me, you make several time-keeping commitments. Please be sure to review section (4.d) about this below, and please only order when you have sufficient time to honor these commitments.

"The CareerZeus" is a brand and trade name of Progress Ltd., a company located at Hotchi 522-3, Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan. Its corporate registration with the Japanese government can be viewed here. I refer to both Progress Ltd. and The CareerZeus collectively as “The CareerZeus” for the purposes of this policy. Its terms and conditions are construed in accordance with Japanese law and subject to Japanese law. All legal claims against TheCareerZeus must be settled at the Nagano District Court. 👉 I can be contacted via the contact form on our About page.

In the below terms and conditions, The CareerZeus is also referred to as “I”, “me” and “my” while the client is also referred to as “you” and “your”.

By ordering any services from The CareerZeus you agree to all of the following.

1. My rights and obligations

a. I have the right to either accept or reject your business and have no obligation to explain my decision. Normally, I will of course accept your business. If I reject your business, I will refund any payments I have already received from you in full. I must inform you of any decision to reject your business within one business day of receiving an order and/or payment from you. Failing to do so means that I accept your business.

b. Once I accept your business, I will, on a best-effort basis, perform the services you have ordered as outlined on my website and order pages. If I fail to do so, I will refund any monies received from you.

c. I have the right to cancel an engagement for reasonable cause. Reasonable causes include repeated failure on your part to honor the time commitments set out in section (4.d), and cases of gross discourtesy, abuse, or other commonly unacceptable behavior on your part. If I cancel an engagement for cause, it will be at my sole discretion whether or how much of the fees received from you to refund.

4. Your rights and obligations

a. Once The CareerZeus has accepted your business you have the right to receive the services and documents you have ordered within the time frames and delivery terms stated on these pages.

b. You have several privacy rights.

c. You have the right to cancel any services at any time but generally, cancellation shall not result in any refunds to you.

d. You commit to:

Show up to any appointments with us on time.
Respond to any queries from me within 48 hours.
Make any requests for revisions or follow-up discussions within three calendar days of receiving the related drafts.
Make yourself available for any follow-up calls within five calendar days of the time of your request for such.

Repeated failure to honor these commitments may in a worst-case scenario result in my canceling our engagement with you and in the loss of your fees.

e. The success of any job search depends on many factors, not just the quality of the services I provide to you. You accept that I am not responsible for your success with any job applications or interviews.

Since by default, the lion's share of The CareerZeus' fees are only payable after you have received the services you've ordered, there is no refund guarantee.

Likewise, if you avail yourself of my discount offer of 10% and pay the entire fee upfront, there is no refund guarantee.

3. Data

You accept that data obtained from my interactions with you, while subject to my privacy policy, may be used in analytics to build and improve my business processes and information technology.

In no event shall The CareerZeus and/or its suppliers or contractors be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages or any damages whatsoever including, without limitation, damages for loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in any way connected with the use or performance of the site, with the delay or inability to use the site or related services, the provision of or failure to provide services, or for any information, software, products, services and related graphics obtained through the site, or otherwise arising out of the use of the site, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise.
